About Nutritional Therapy
Through analysing your current diet and lifestyle, Nutritional Therapy helps establish a way forward to optimise your health by identifying any deficiencies and seeks to include nourishing foods to achieve ultimate wellness. The therapy is completely personal to the individual, can complement conventional medicine and be accessed by anyone. The naturopathic perspective involves treating and encompassing the whole person, seeking to identify the underlying causes that are manifesting as symptoms, You may want or need substantial support to achieve ultimate wellness, or just require a helping hand in the right direction. The fundamental principle of how I will work with you is to establish 'where you are at' right now, then we agree a way forward together and you set that pace. I am a realist and will provide solutions that you can implement around your lifestyle, whether you work away from home, have a hectic family life and work schedule, or perhaps you are living on our own and need inspiration on how to motivate yourself into 'cooking for one'. Whatever your personal circumstances I will show you how to work a healthier routine into everyday life. How does the consultation process work? You will be sent a questionnaire to return to me before your initial consultation, so that I can fully understand how you have arrived at this point (Naturally, you can expect complete confidentiality at all times). We will also discuss your current lifestyle and food intake, as well as test by muscle response some foods that may be causing underlying / aggravating issues, enabling us to unearth clues to the root cause of your symptoms. Muscle response testing provides me a further understanding of your body's needs, is non-invasive, very gentle and in fact most people are fascinated in the way this method 'gives the body a voice'. You can expect to take away from your first appointment some initial dietary and lifestyle advice, an understanding of what is exacerbating your condition, identified problematic foods to avoid and information explaining some key points. Note that before our follow-up appointment I will also research any particular aspects of your case and put together a personalised dietary and lifestyle guide, along with suggested supplementation (if required). We will explore this together in depth during the follow-up, so you feel confident and positive when leaving to embark on your new journey. |
About Nicola Sainty
I have found the naturopathetic perpective to be an effective way of working with clients. I enjoy supporting individuals in their understanding of how one thing has a knock-on effect on another, giving them the knowledge to make informed choices and the power to generate significant positive changes to live life to their full potential. For the past three years I have studied Nutritional Therapy and Anatomy and Physiology, achieving a diploma at the School of Health in Stroud, and I am currently undertaking a further course in Pathology and Disease. I am also qualified in Muscle Response Testing Skills that help identify any food issues, for which I trained at the Classical Institute of Kinesiology in Leicester. I plan to constantly expand my studies so I can incorporate an array of different methods, along with the latest science to help you re-balance your health. I am a member of the FNTP - Federation of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners and am fully accredited and insured. Outside of work I have a young daughter, collie-cross dog and enjoy high intensity training, so all of these combined keep me on my toes and quite fit! |
